Carver Middle School, Nov. 8, 2010 "Take a veteran to school"

Twenty-ten saw us again with the wonderful students, faculty and staff at Carver Middle School in Leesburg, FL. We again were very happy to share this opportunity with the veterans from Amvets Post 2006 in Leesburg.

Carver School Chorus singing a tribute to veterans. The program began with all of us being treated to a very nice breakfast with the students.  Next there was a meeting in the assembly room where the school chorus sang several tributes to veterans. This was very nice.

We were fortunate to be able to use material from this web site in making the presentation. Thank you Ms. Covington and the students of her classroom!

After we returned from the classrooms, we were met by members of the journalism class. For me (Thiel) it was a pleasure to be to be interviewed by Hailey Hadden and Erica Hipp. Sadly, our hour went by much too quickly because they did not finish their questioning. I since have answered many more questions by email. Hopefully, I can obtain photos of these interviews for posting on this web site from the Carver Journalism Class.

The Korean War Veterans salute you Carver Middle School!
