Austin Rumbley to the Citadel

Austin Rumbley, Eagle Scout, Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park, Leesburg. Christian Home and Bible School in Mount Dora. Korean War Veterans Association chapter 169Austin Rumbley is the Eagle Scout who raised all the funds needed for the installation of the flag pole at the Veterans Memorial at Fountain Park in Leesburg.

The physical installation of the flag pole was on April 5, 2011. At the time, Austin was a senior at Christian Home and Bible School in Mount Dora.

Austin is going to attend The Citadel at Charlestown, SC beginning in August of 2011. . After completing all four years at The Citadel, he plans to seek a commission in the Navy as a special warfare operator, a SEAL.

At its June 23 Board meeting, the Chapter approved a motion to provide him with $500.00 from its Scholarship Fund, which has been sent to The Citadel. This was based on Austin's dedication to the VMFP.
